β FAQ
Below are the most common questions about PixelAds.fun, ownership, customization, and the ecosystem.
πΉ What blockchain does PixelAds use?
PixelAds runs on the Base Network, an Ethereum Layer 2 offering low fees and fast transactions.
πΉ What exactly do I own when I buy a pixel?
You own an ERC-721 NFT representing a single pixel on the 1,000 Γ 1,000 canvas. Ownership is stored permanently on-chain.
πΉ Can the creators change or move my pixel?
No. Pixels are immutable and fully controlled by the smart contract.
πΉ Can I sell my pixel?
Yes β in a future update, youβll be able to sell pixels on the built-in marketplace or transfer them normally via any NFT wallet.
πΉ What if metadata (color, link, description) is abused?
Metadata is stored using IPFS, and certain limits apply to prevent harmful content. PixelAds may hide inappropriate content in the UI, but ownership remains unaffected.
πΉ What happens if the backend goes offline?
Ownership and metadata CIDs remain 100% on-chain. The backend is only a fast indexing layer. Everything can be rebuilt from the blockchain at any time.
πΉ Why IPFS and not full on-chain storage?
Full on-chain storage is expensive and inefficient for dynamic metadata. IPFS offers:
permanent storage
decentralization
public access
paired with on-chain CIDs.
πΉ How are pixel prices determined?
Each pixel has a fixed mint price in ETH during v1. Future versions may introduce variable pricing or marketplace-driven valuations.
πΉ Will there be a token?
Yes β $PIXEL will launch in a future phase and reward early adopters.
πΉ What wallets are supported?
Any wallet compatible with the Base Network:
MetaMask
Coinbase Wallet
Rabby
Phantom (multi-chain)
Frame
and more
πΉ Is PixelAds safe?
Ownership is guaranteed by the smart contract. Backend systems do not hold funds or private keys. Purchases rely exclusively on your wallet.
